Last year I helped a post-stroke caseload improve their average modified Barthel Index from 52 to 78 across their plans of care, returning most of them to independent dressing and self-feeding. I would like to bring that same functional focus to the Occupational Therapist role at [Company].
I am a licensed Occupational Therapist with five years in inpatient rehab and outpatient settings, certified in hand therapy basics and trained in neuro rehabilitation. I evaluate patients, build goal-driven treatment plans, fabricate splints, recommend adaptive equipment, and progress activities of daily living toward real-world independence. I track everything with standardized measures so progression and discharge decisions are defensible to physicians and payers. When an arthritic patient could no longer cook safely, I combined joint-protection training, adaptive tools, and a graded plan that got her back to preparing her own meals in six weeks.
