I am AWS certified and work confidently in MIG, TIG, and stick processes. On structural steel I switch to flux-cored for production speed without letting profile, undercut, or porosity slip past code, and I check my own work with a fillet gauge before I call it done.
Blueprint reading is where I save crews the most time. I read the print, interpret the weld symbols, and handle my own fit-up, squaring, clamping, and tacking joints so the final pass goes down right the first time instead of getting ground out and redone. That habit keeps rework low, keeps consumables in budget, and keeps the schedule honest when a job gets tight.
Safety is not separate from the work for me. I stay current on hot work permits, fire watch, ventilation, and PPE, I inspect my leads and regulators daily, and I have gone stretches measured in years without a recordable incident.
